NICK DRAKE
Nick Drake is an award-winning poet, screenwriter and librettist. His poetry pamphlet Ghost Forest is 
published by Dare-Gale Press in 2026.
His poetry collections, published by Bloodaxe Books, include The Man in the White Suit (1999), winner of the Forward Prize for Best First Collection, The Farewell Glacier (2012), inspired by a journey through the Svalbard archipelago to witness climate change in the Arctic, and Out of Range (2018).
His poem The Future was recorded by Andrew Scott for Letters to the Earth, and Message from the Unseen World forms part of a permanent public artwork by United Visual Artists in Paddington Basin dedicated to Alan Turing.
Collaborations with composer Rachel Portman include The Gathering Tree, Earth Song and Tipping Points (2023). He also wrote the librettos for operas by Tansy Davies including Between Worlds and Cave.
His screenwriting credits include One Life and Romulus, My Father. His plays include All the Angels and To Reach the Clouds.
