John Mole is the author of numerous collections of poetry, most recently Gold to Gold and Keeping in Step (Shoestring Press, 2020 and 2023).  His work has received both the Gregory and Cholmondely Awards, and his poetry for children won the Signal Award. He wrote the libretto for Alban, a Community Opera performed in St Albans Abbey, and his poetry reviews for the magazine Encounter have been collected in Passing Judgements: Poetry in the Eighties (Bristol Classical Press, 1989 ). He lives in Hertfordshire and for many years ran The Mandeville Press with Peter Scupham. John is also an accomplished Jazz clarinetist.
